What does it offer?
The CIES offers place to rest and work to any researcher who has been authorized to undertake a project in the Park territory.
The living quarters can be found in the Waterfalls area close to the Macuco Trail, 400 meters before the Hotel Sheraton. At the moment there are 3 buildings with 17 beds in total. The bathroom and the living room are have to be shared. The CIES lents the bed sheets but not the towels.
In the main building there are the kitchen-dinner room, equiped with freezer, hoven, washing machine and drier, and the laboratory, with air-conditioning, microscope, scale, radio VHF, lab-space with sink and gas connection and other tool. There is an Internet connection and telephone line.

The CIES Offices Administrativas? are at 500 meters from the living quarters, inside the old hotel, close to the beginning of the lower trail of the Cataratas, after the Sheraton Hotel.
In the same building there is also the library and the biological collections, opened to all the researchers. There are collections of reptiles, fishes and mammals which are a reference point for the people who work with these species in the region. Moreover the CIES keeps a complete herbary based on the work of inventarization of flora of the Iguazú National Park, realized in cooperation with the Instituto de Botánica del Nordeste (IBONE) and the help of other external researchers and tecnics?. Close to this offices there are also some studies aimed to those projectos and researchers who work in the CIES but do not need to live there, and a deposit for large volumes with trap-cage for large felines, poles for neblina? nets, a canoa and other elements for and of several projects.

Other benefits:
There is a 4x4 with doble cabina? four wheel drive to carry people and equipment inside the area of the Park.
Informations about the temperature and rainfall recorded in the Area Cataratas are available for all those researchers who require. The same for satelital images of the Park, hidrographic, road and installation maps in digital format.
All the researcher authorized to undertake project in the Park have not to pay the ticket when entering the touristic Area Cataratas. In order to pass they need to identify themselves at the entrance showing the Formulario III with the authorization. Then the CIES will provide an identifing card to simplify the circulation inside the area and which also rapresent a free pass for the bus service from and to the town of Puerto Iguazú.
