How to get

The CIES is located in Iguazú National Park, Argentina. The closest town is Puerto Iguazú, which lies at very border with Brasil and Paraguay and is 17km from the CIES.

The CIES can be found inside the touristic area of the Park, the Area Cataratas, close to the entrance of the Macuco trail, 400 meters before the Sheraton Hotel. For this reason, before visiting, it is suggested to call the CIES and advise them about the arrival time.

By car: The Iguazú National Park is 310km from Posadas, capital of Misiones, the northeastest province of Argentina. In order to reach it by car it is raccomended to use the ruta nacional 12 and then turn for the ruta provincial 101, wich takes to the Area Cataratas; once inside the Park follow the signals for the Sheraton Hotel until the Macuco trail, there a sign will indicate the entrance to the CIES. It is also possible to pass from Brasil, crossing the Iguazú river on the Tancredo Neves bridge, wich connect the brasilian city of Foz do Iguaçu with Puerto Iguazú.

By bus: Puerto Iguazú can be reach by buses from all the largest cities of Argentina and Brasil. Once in the bus terminal it is possible to take a local bus (T.A. “EL PRACTICO”) which stops right in front of the CIES. These buses are identified by the sign “CATARATAS-WATERFALLS” and can be used since 7am to 7pm. Alternatively it is possible to get to the CIES by taxi at any moment of the day. The taxi fare from the town is 40 pesos.

By plane: Direct flights to Iguazú are available from Buenos Aires (Argentina) and São Paulo (Brasil). From Iguazú Airport there is a bus service, the “FOUR TOURIST TRAVEL”, which can take to the Area Cataratas or Puerto Iguazú. The fare is 10? pesos per person. In any case it is possible to use a taxi both from the Airport or the Town. The fare from the Airport to the CIES is 50 pesos.
